The statement expressed concern over the obstacles that have prevented the implementation of a ME WMDFZ, as adopted in the 1995 Middle East Resolution. Algeria welcomes the UNGA-mandated conference aimed at negotiating a binding treaty to establish an ME WMDFZ.
